Objective versus subjective sound quality
Bill Schnee learned from Doug Sax that just because something measured better doesn’t mean it sounds better. He makes up an instance, “‘This unit has .006% distortion, that one has .05, so the other one is cleaner.’ Yes, but does it sound better? Maybe, maybe not.”1
